Kyiv, April 8, 2008 - U.A. Inter Media Group Limited shot a documentary film about the first Ukrainian austronaut

The studio "07 Production" has finished shooting the documentary film "Pavel Popovich. The Space Adventures". The film, dedicated to the first Ukrainian austronaut Pavel Popovich, will be aired on Inter on April, 10 before the remarkable date – the International Day of Aviation and Space Technology. The author of the film is Aleksey Bobrovnikov, Bohdan Korovchenko is the director (studio "07 Production", TV channel "Inter").

This year Pavel Popovich, the first Ukrainian conqueror of space and one of the six famous astronauts who for the first time entered the orbit, will hold his 78 birth anniversary.

The shooting team met with the legend of national and world astronautics in Moscow. According to the author, Aleksey Bobrovnikov, this film is not about the achievements of Soviet aviation, but about the people obsessed with the desire to fly, like Pavel Popovich and his first wife Marina, the first class test pilot and world aviation champion.

"It is a very intimate story," Aleksey Bobrovnikov said. "We have shot the story of two people, two absolutely insane test pilots, who lived in an incredible, terrible and fantastic period of time when two the most powerful countries in the world competed for the right to be the first in space. And the two people became a family because of some inexplicable chance and did not separate for 35 years. It is a very unusual story of a man and a woman who by mutual agreement had the only one condition: not to impede each other to fly. This kept them together in marriage for many years".

Aleksey Bobrovnikov and Bohdan Korovchenko admitted that they greatly enjoyed the work on the film: "This is probably one of the most sincere and intimate stories that have ever been done by our studio of documentaries. The main difficulty was to reproduce all the beauty and not to spoil it because this story has originally been beautiful and very sincere".
