The news of the Group

The structure of Ukrainian television market has changed significantly last year. "Inter" and "1+1 Studio", the first-rank channels, used to share more than one third of the market. However in 2009 the drop of "1+1" resulted in significant change at the established line-up. The national TV-market entered 2009 year with a single leading channel - the "Inter".
In 2008 "Inter's" share was 21,02% among the "18+" audience, while its closest competitor had the share of 11,88% and approached the indexes of channels of the holding, where the leader is "STB" with 8,02% share.
Thus in 2009 "Inter" remained the only leading channel on the Ukrainian TV-market, while the indexes of "1+1 Studio" reduced to the level of second-rank channels.
Among 50 highest-rated programs by the "18+" audience 48 programs were aired on "Inter", among the "14-49" audience – 38 programs. During the year "Inter" didn't lose a single week for the "18+" share and also won 30 of 52 weeks by the "14-49" audience.
The 2009 "Inter" started with high ratings and share. On the New Year Eve "Inter" was the absolute leader of the air - the ratings of the channel exceeded the competitors' ratings more than three times.
The rating of "Vecherniy Kvartal" ("Evening Block") among the audience "18+" was 19,6%, among the audience "14-49" - 16,3% with the shares 41,3% and 38,9% accordingly. The New Year's congratulation of the Ukrainian President on "Inter" was watched by 22,1% of audience "18+" (the share is 41,7%) and by 19,3% of "14-49" population (the share is 39,1%). The New Year program "Odnoklassniki. Novogodnyaya vstrecha!" ("Classmates. New Year's Reunion") had the average rating of 15,5% among the "18+" audience with a 32,6% share, among the "14-49" audience the rating was 13,6% and the share was 32,6%. The closest competitor of "Odnoklassniki" among the "18+" audience was "Goluboi Ogonyok na Shabolovke" ("Blue Light on Shabolovka") on TV and radio company "Ukraina", which had the share of 10,8% among the "18+" audience and 7,5% among the "14-49" audience. And the closest competitor of "Odnoklassniki" among the "14-49" audience was the New Year show at "1+1" "Krasnaya Shapochka i vse, vse, vse" ("Little Red Riding Hood and company") with the share of 7,7% among the "18+" audience and 11,2% among the "14-49" audience.
By the way, in 2008 other channels of the "Inter" group - NTN and K1 - secured their positions in the first top-10 of TV-channels. K1 showed the most substantial rise: in January 2008 it took the 14th place in the rating, and by the end of the year it took the 10th place. The audience rise of NTN and K1 was the highest this autumn. NTN, which started the season on the 1st of November, increased the share among the "18-54" audience in November-December by 19% comparative to the average of the first 10 months - up to 3,8% during this period.
