U.A. Inter Media Group Limited and Ukrtelecom Launched IP-television Project

Kyiv, November 29, 2007 - Ukrainians will get an access to 'personal' television in next two months at the results of the project launched by Inter TV channel together with Ukrainian telecommunications company "Ukrtelecom". By 'personal' television we mean the absolutely new up-to-date TV-format of IP-television, which has already become popular among internet users all over the world.  The main benefit of IP-television is that the user shapes his own personal 'airing schedule' setting the selected shows to the time convenient to him.

The users will be able to watch the most popular Ukrainian and foreign channels. Those tired of commercials may go directly to the virtual cinema hall. There they can select the movie and watch it when they want. And all these does not interferes with traditional internet communication.

Volodymyr Masaryk, head of foreign relations department of "Thorsat":

- You feel like Julius Cesar doing three things simultatiously: speaking over the phone, watching TV, surfing the internet. The operators can compete, providing discounts for IP-phones, IP-television and internet.

All necessary facilities can be rented from 'Ukrtelecom'. It is not really sophisticated though. The main thing you need is IDSL  modem, well-known to many web-users.

The company has not set the prices for the services yet. However, promised that Ukrainians will certainly afford the  IP-television.

Svetlana Katkova, director of Ukrtelecom's Sales department:

We are going to start test delivery of the service to our clients soon. The prices will not be higher than those of cellular and cable networks operators.

U.A. Inter Media Group Limited and Ukrtelecom will launch the project in December. So on the eve of New Year Ukrainians will have a chance to enjoy the Television of Future.
