Owner of U.A. Inter Media Group Khoroshkovskiy Ranked Within 20 Most Influential Ukrainians

Kyiv, September 12, 2008 Valeriy Khoroshkovskiy (page), the owner of the Media Group U.A. Inter Media Group Limited, became 19th most influential person in Ukraine, according to the opinion of the Editorial Board of the “Korrespondent” magazine.

This was published in the special edition №32 of August 2008 of the magazine. Mr. Khoroshkovkiy has significantly strengthened his influence over the recent year, having moved 22 places forward from 41st place, which he occupied in 2007.

The Editorial Board of “Korrespondent” notes that, in particular, the popularity of politicians and the degree of their influence on the life of the country was taken into account during the charting of the rating, while for businesspeople – the scale of the companies managed by them and their lobbying capabilities. Hence it becomes clear that the increase of Mr. Khoroshkovskiy’s influence more than twice from the moment of publication of the previous rating one year ago is caused both by his appointment to the post of the Head of the State Customs Service of Ukraine (www.customs.gov.ua) in December 2007 and by development of the Media Group U.A. Inter Media Group Limited, which he owns, over the past year.

In particular, the growth of the Media Group over the past year, which could be expressed in a significant increase of its capitalization, was caused, among other factors, by the take-overs of “NTN” TV channel in December 2007 (press release), of Information Agency “Ukrainian News” in February 2008 (press release), of advertising companies “Style-C Regions” and “Highline Media” in March 2008 (press release), and also by the entry into the market of the Group's business weekly “Chistaya Pribyl” (“Net Profit”) in March 2008 (press release).

Group’s capitalization also increased due to the publication in January 2008 of Mr. Khoroshkovsky’s decision to prepare the Group for its upcoming IPO of its shares. The decision was published as a consequence of contracting the company Dragon Capital to consult the Group in its preparation to the upcoming IPO (press release).
