Kyiv, June 27, 2008 - JSC "Ukrainian independent TV-corporation" (Inter TV Channel) completed negotiations on purchasing K1, K2 and Megasport TV Channels.

The negotiations on purchasing of three more channels started in January 2007. During this period K1, K2 and Megasport TV Channels were actually controlled and operated by Inter. The sale deal became possible after the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) gave the go-ahead to Prime Media Group Ltd for purchasing the controlling interests of JSC "Kyivtelemontage" (K1) and close corporation "TV and Radio company Intervideo-Kyiev" (K2 TV Channel).

At the result of the deal also authorised by Antimonopoly Committee 'Prime Media Group' purchased over 50 % of stock JSC 'TV and Radio Organisation "Multi Media Service" ( Megasport TV Channel).
At the same time AMCU allowed 'UA Inter Media Group' Ltd to became the owner of Prime Media Group Company. 'UA Inter Media Group' belongs to Valeriy Khoroshkovsky.

Mr. Khoroshkovskyi gave his comments to the deal: "Purchasing of K1, K2 and Megasport TV channels is not an incidental step, it was done with the special purpose in mind. We have realized long ago that in the long term perspective the position of Inter as the leader can only be kept through the development of the Media Group. We made some attempts to negotiate with other channels. Now these negotiations came to an end and I am absolutely delighted with the result.

The foundation of new multi-branded media group will not only secure Inter's position as a leader on Ukrainian market, but also will benefit the consumers as it  allows presenting the widest range of  TV products on minor channels of the Group".
